What kinds of things can I use the studio for?
With almost 1000 sq ft of open space, Studio on the Fox is ideal for headshots, branding sessions, family portraits, styled shoots, content creation, workshops, and certain small events. In addition to the production area, there are 2 spacious bathrooms, an office and an area with a minifridge, microwave and coffee maker. The natural light and flexible layout make it a favorite among photographers and creatives. As a working photo studio, we don’t have dining tables, chairs, or a kitchen setup. For that reason, we aren’t able to host private celebrations like birthday parties or showers.
How's the light? And sound?
The studio’s south-facing windows provide consistent, flattering light from morning to late afternoon. It’s especially magical during golden hour. You are welcome to bring your own lighting equipment or we have a growing selection of items for rent. The unit is in a building with another business and residential apartments. The thick walls are great buffers but some sound does get through.
Can I use the furniture, backdrops and props?
Yes! You’re welcome to use the furniture, request a backdrop, browse our props or bring your own to suit your session. We offer a basic tools like reflectors, light/backdrop stands, clamps/tape and an array of backdrops, including 4 seamless paper backdrops set up on our remote-control operated rollers. Specialty gear is reserved for members. We just ask that everything is returned to its original place afterward and please, for the love of God, NO GLITTER!
Is there parking available?
Yes! Free parking is available nearby, including street parking and a private lot in the rear of the building. We’ll send parking tips with your booking confirmation.
Is the studio wheelchair accessible?
Great question. The studio is located on street level with no stairs inhibiting the use of wheelchairs through the front door. The 2 doors are not automated but are 36" wide and can be opened 90 degrees or more. While we strive to be inclusive, the studio is located in a historic building and accessibility may be limited. Please contact us in advance so we can accommodate your needs as best we can.
Cleaning Policy
Please leave the studio as you found it. Furniture and props may be rearranged, but must be returned to their original positions. Absolutely no glitter, confetti, smoke bombs, or open flames. Our studio is photographed constantly and you are responsible for any damage caused to the building, furniture or equipment.
Cancelation Policy, Capacity and Other good things to know:
Cancellations made within 24 hours of booking are eligible for a full refund. After 24 hours, we offer studio credit or the ability to reschedule. Capacity is 16. Studio rental includes Wi-Fi access. Your rental time includes setup and breakdown. Overtime will be billed in 30-minute increments, pending studio availability.
